Hyundai’s New Hot 1

With its sophisticated lines, the all-new H-1 improves on its
predecessor in every measurable respect. More spacious, a lot
more comfortable and more convenient, the new H-1 reinvigorates
the company’s competitiveness in this hotly contested segment.
The new H-1 comes in passenger van and commercial van versions.
The people mover is available in a variety of seating layouts:
eight, nine, eleven or twelve passengers, while the commercial
van comes in two, three, five and six seater versions for a high
degree of versatility.
Better performance
The
new 2.4 litre engine is a new offering in the H1 range.
Delivering 170bhp, the new engine can propel the new H-1 to a
maximum speed of 185km/h, and has a fuel economy rating of 7.1km
per litre. The base gearbox is a five-speed manual but an
automatic is available as an option, in either four or five
speed versions. Key new exterior features on the H1 include the
addition of dual sliding side doors, twin swing rear doors for
the commercial van, 15 and 16 inch wheels , a back-up warning
system, available only on the passenger van, and a sliding side
window for the wagon. The new H-1 gets larger front disc brakes
providing better braking power, and as for handling, it has been
fitted with a McPherson strut front suspension which makes the
car a lot more stable than its predecessor.
A
touch of comfort
New
touches to the interior include the transmission gear shift
lever being on the centre fascia, allowing more room for
movement in the cabin between the driver and passenger, and the
addition of an overhead storage console. The new H-1 is also
fitted with an electrochromic rear view mirror, which means that
if someone behind you has their high beams on, the mirror will
automatically become darker thus reducing the glare in your
eyes. All the controls are only an arm’s length away allowing
the driver to adjust any control without losing concentration on
the road. Roof-mounted air vents have been placed throughout the
car for improved cooling and heating throughout the cabin.
Another cool feature in the 2008 H1 is that in the six seater
version passengers in the back face each other, which makes the
car ideal for families that, enjoy taking long journeys on the
road.
Convenience
The
guys over at Hyundai have also thought about making life easy
for everyone who drives this car. A lot of storage space has
been made available to everyone, from cup holders in the front
and rear to a sunglass holder near the map reading lights above
the driver and passenger. Auxiliary power outlets have been
conveniently placed in the car, so all your power needs have
been solved if you’re going on a long haul.
